If you cannot attend all the sessions, or all the times are not convenient we will discuss as a group during the first session any amendments we can make to suit us all.

Prior experience:

Some practical experience is disarable

It is recommended you complete a RYA essential navigation course first, but this is not compulsory

Course duration:

40 hours plus exam time and homework. The course is split over a series of weekends and evenings.

  • Position fixing

  • Plotting a course to steer

  • Weather forecasting and meteorology

  • Tides

  • Collision regulations

Award of the certificate is after successful completion of exams
