Some practical experience is disarable
It is recommended you complete a RYA essential navigation course first, but this is not compulsory
Course duration:
40 hours plus exam time and homework. The course is split over a series of weekends and evenings.

Chartwork, electronic charts
Position fixing
Plotting a course to steer
Weather forecasting and meteorology

Collision regulations
Award of the certificate is after successful completion of exams
