The Club
WFYC is a beautifully located and historical clubhouse which was first established in 1908. The club has evolved from a Royal Navy observation tower and a collection of ex-army huts to a purpose-built clubhouse and RYA Training Centre hosting a number of social events and fun for all the family!
Located at Walton-on-the-Naze, it hosts a stunning setting not only for dinghy sailing, cruising or many other watersports activities, but also for a family friendly day out, having a bite to eat and enjoying the fabulous views across the river!
We are a family-friendly and sociable club, always offering new members a warm welcome with open arms. We offer a wide range of both sailing and social activities offering great fun for members all year round including Cruiser and Dinghy Events. We also run RYA Training Courses for all levels and ages.
The clubhouse hosts a fantastic venue with excellent bar and catering services not only for our members to enjoy but also for private or corporate events for members and non-members.
We cannot forget the most important element at WFYC – the people. Whether you are a cruiser or a racer, you’ll find plenty of like-minded people in our ‘family’ and be made to feel very welcome.

Memberships can be paid annually or monthly by direct debit
Adult memberships include free membership for children under 18
· Full Adult — £280 per year / £24 per month
Full membership for adults aged 25+, including voting rights and full use of club facilities. NB – Family membership is suitable for two adults.
· Social — £138 per year / £12 per month
Access to the bar and catering facilities only. No voting rights or use of slipways, sailing or storage facilities.
· Affiliate — £75 per year / £7 per month
Social membership for members of Frinton Golf, Cricket or Tennis Clubs.
· Family — £419 per year / £35 per month
Full membership for two adults and their children under 18 living at the same address.
· Young Person / Student — £46 per year / £4 per month
Full membership for ages 18–25.
· Cadet — £46 per year / £4 per month
For children 6 - 18 related to (or sponsored by) a full or social member, but not covered by a parent’s membership.
· Senior — £138 per year / £12 per month
For members aged 70+ who have been full adult members for a total of at least 25 years.
· Overseas — £110 per year / £10 per month
For members aged 25+ unable to use the club for more than 8 months in a year due to military service, illness, living abroad, or exceptional circumstances.
