Guest Paddler Pass
You bring your own paddleboard or kayak and we provide the location and facilities
Access to the water at Walton and Frinton Yacht Club is reserved for full members, however, with the rising popularity of paddling activities, we have introduced paddling day passes to allow you to bring your own paddleboard or kayak and try our facilities before joining. You can benefit from up to 4 visits as a guest, after which point you will need to join, however, we can count the cost of any of your paddle passes from the last 12 months towards your membership fee. Once you are a full member (family and concession discounts available), you will then have unlimited access to the water and other facilities the club has to offer, along with a members discount in the bar and restaurant.
At the bottom of the page, you will find the booking system so you can check the availability of a particular day and book.
Important Notes
Launching or accessing the water at the club without being a full member or having purchased a pass is prohibited.

FAQ
-
- No wet gear/clothing
- No hats
- Footwear and sleeved tops must be worn -
No, you do not need to be a full members guest. Though, we do hope that once you have experienced what we have to offer, you might consider becoming a member yourself.
-
We offer both. A Craft Pass includes 1 craft and 1 person (we would be concerned if a craft turned up by itself), so for just yourself and your kayak, you just need a Craft Pass. If your craft can take more than one paddler, you need to purchase a Person Pass for each additional person.
The reason for this is twofold. Firstly, by requiring a ticket for each person, we are able to collect some details for each person, should something happen. Secondly, as we control the number of passes, we know that we won’t get 2 coach loads of people turn up to share 1 craft and make the slipway incredibly busy (remember, we have members who want to use the slipways for their dinghys etc). -
Yes, but a pass must be purchased if they are to access the water and children must be supervised at all times, on and off the water. When the tide is in, our club is surrounded by water, and when the tide is out, there can be large drops from the quay to the mud below.
-
Yes, if kept on a lead and well behaved. Please note, dogs are only allowed outside and not inside the club.
-
Yes, when it is open our bar and restaurant are happy to receive non members. Full members do receive a discount on food and drink though, so if you plan to come frequently, please consider joining.
How it works
Anyone not a full Walton and Frinton Yacht Club member will need a pass to have access to the water at our club. If you are a full member and bringing guests with you, they need a pass for any craft (kayak/SUP) they bring (which also covers 1 person) plus additional pass for each other person using the water.
Examples:
a full member bringing 1 kayak (their own) and 2 guests without kayaks, just needs 2x “Person Pass”.
a guest who is not a member bringing 1 SUP needs just 1x “Craft pass”, note that a craft pass automatically includes a 1 person pass.
a group of 5 with a mega SUP will need 1x “Craft pass” (which includes 1 person) and 4x “Person Pass”.
a group of 6 with 3 tandem kayaks will need 3x “Craft pass” and 3x “Person Pass”.
Please make sure you are able to present your guest paddler pass if requested. It will be emailed as a PDF ticket but can also save it to your Apple Wallet.
