Backwaters Help Group

Sometimes you may find yourself in need of a little help, like trying to leave a mooring or anchorage but being unable to start your engine, maybe you just need a little tow back to the marina. If you are quite safe, but stuck, then maybe someone can help. That is why the Backwaters Help Group WhatsApp has been set up. If you are a boater in the Walton backwaters, then joining the group means you could ask, or be asked for help.

You can join the group by clicking here, if you ever get stuck, then feel free to post a message asking for help. Maybe someone on the group is nearby, or after an excuse to get out on their boat and can lend you a hand.

• The group is not for emergencies, if there is a serious incident, call 999 and ask for the coastguard.

• You should use your own judgement as to whether you are capable of providing assistance and also as to whether you want to accept someone’s assistance, we can take no responsibility decisions made by people on this group.

• It should be considered good form to thank anyone providing assistance with a drink at the yacht club after.

Walton and Frinton Yacht Club takes no responsibility for this group, it’s members or action taken by the fore mentioned.
