Walton and Frinton Yacht club Cadet week 2024

Cadet week 2024 saw 50 cadets take part in fleet racing, Jolly sailing with our instructors and in our zero to hero fleet for our novice sailors.

Off the water the cadets enjoyed beach games led by our cadet committee, a scavenger hunt round walton,  a sunset seal trip, movie night complete with movie snacks provided by olde sweet shop Frinton, and the cadet week dinner with a true Chris Opperman’s quiz. The new addition this year was the mud race supported by Frinton Fire station to hose the children and instructors down afterwards.

The week's weather hosted perfect clear skies, warm and sunny conditions. It was a windy week and the cadets did very well in some blustery conditions. In our championship and regatta fleets the cadets took part in 8 races and then a stand alone round honey pot island race.
